After sleeping in seclusion for three thousand years, the ancient corpse cultivator Zhao Hanyuan breaks free from his seal and awakens, returning to the mortal world to wander its earthly bustle and travel the mountains and rivers of the immortal path.
With cultivation that reaches the heavens and little regard for the Great Dao, he only wants to travel as he pleases and live at ease. By chance, he settles in the remote city of Mi.
There he meets Yang Xiaoyi, the city lord's daughter, who has long suffered from a cold poison and has been wrongly written off by the world as a short-lived Profound Yin Cauldron.
Moved by the girl's pure kindness and the small, heartwarming gift she gives him, Zhao Hanyuan makes an exception and intervenes.
He gives her a thousand-year-old jade pendant from the North Pole Palace and teaches her an unparalleled Earth-tier cultivation technique. After two years of careful guidance, he tempers her Dao heart and lays a solid foundation, transforming a sickly girl on the brink of death into a once-in-ten-thousand-years genius with a Profound Ice Sacred Body, whose cultivation reaches the late Core Formation stage.
But greed knows no bounds. The head of the Qingshan Sect, nearing the end of his lifespan, covets the Sacred Body's essence. He forcibly comes to her door, demanding that the girl cultivate dual cultivation with him to extend his life. He intends to seize her Dao foundation and prolong his own lifespan.
As she faces utter despair, the frail, sickly girl of the past finally awakens, breaking through the ice!
At the late Core Formation stage, she defeats an opponent at the peak of Core Formation, crushing a century-old monster with the essence of her Sacred Body. In one battle, she kills the sect leader, destroys his sect, and tears apart the fate that had doomed her to an early death!
Zhao Hanyuan continues his travels, finding opportunities, subduing ancient divine beasts, taking twin disciples, and meeting old acquaintances. How many more trials await him...?
