In 1961, famine ravaged the foothills of Changbai Mountain.
When Zhao Shanhe woke up, he discovered he had transmigrated into the village wastrel everyone in Kaoshan Tun despised: the man who had angered his mother to death, squandered the family fortune, and left his pregnant wife and young sister emaciated with hunger.
From the start, he had nothing but bare walls. Terrible relatives showed up demanding repayment, and the whole village was waiting to laugh as the Zhao family starved to death.
Fortunately, he acquired the [All Things Hunting System]!
He could track every wild animal within five li, and was skilled at tracking, trapping, skinning, and hunting. He could even trade his quarry for food, medicine, and even rifle parts!
For other people, going into the mountains meant risking their lives. For him, it was a shopping trip!
Hares, roe deer, wild boars, black bears, ginseng, velvet antlers... He swept up every treasure in the Changbai Mountains!
While the whole village was still fretting over a mouthful of coarse grain and wild greens, the aroma of braised pork was already wafting from the Zhao family's home.
While the production-team leader was still haggling over work points, Zhao Shanhe hauled a thousand-jin boar king back to the village, stunning everyone.
When his awful relatives came to take advantage of him again, Zhao Shanhe brought a cleaver down on the edge of the heated brick bed. "Get out!"
In this life, he would no longer be a worthless coward.
He would make sure his wife had enough to eat and warm clothes to wear, give his sister a chance to study, and make the Zhao family stand tall in Kaoshan Tun!
A blizzard seals off the mountains? That's his granary!
They want to crack down on capitalist tendencies? He has connections on both sides of the law, and no one can touch him!
Watch Zhao Shanhe use his mountain-hunting skills and System to carve out a path to survival in the famine years and become the revered "Mountain God" beneath Changbai Mountain!
