Legend has it that the Great Yu cast nine cauldrons to anchor the earth's vital currents across the nine provinces. Nine ominous tombs were hidden with them, concealing a secret of immortality. Jiu Yue, descendant of the Tomb-Raiders; Qing Yuan, an occult practitioner; and Tie Shan, a strongman, follow a fragmentary chart across the Taihang Mountains, the Yellow River, pestilent forests, and the Gobi Desert. Ice fiends, swarms of insects, illusion formations, and sinister cults block their way at every turn.
