In a parallel world of Awakened, Gu Qianfan dreams of becoming an Awakened admired by everyone. Instead, he becomes a calamity hated and hunted by all, awakening the Calamity Sequence ability, God’s Hand.
God’s Hand: Touch a target with your palm for three seconds to temporarily copy all of their supernatural abilities. The copied abilities last for ten minutes.
When a beautiful calamity comes to lure him in,
Gu Qianfan is delighted. “You brazen demoness! I could tell at a glance that you’re not human!”
And so, his prey becomes the other calamities hiding in the city, disguised as beautiful women, doctors, and security guards, all of them calamities wearing human skin.
To make the hunt more fun, Gu Qianfan disguises himself as an Awakened and joins the Anomaly Control Bureau. By day, he pretends to be an Awakened and fights calamities. By night, he disguises himself as a calamity and curses the Awakened, living a double life as a spy caught between both sides.
The bureau chief asks, “Are you really an Awakened? You don’t look like one to me.”
Gu Qianfan shows off his power on the spot. “Of course I am, Chief! Look, I’m even in the Monarch Sequence!”
The chief says, “A master like you must join us. With you on our side, the calamities won’t be able to hide!”
A high-ranking calamity asks, “Are you really a calamity?”
Gu Qianfan lets his aura surge. “Of course I am, Boss! Look! I’m even a half-rule-type calamity.”
The calamity says, “You must join us. With you on our side, we’ll stand a much better chance against the Anomaly Control Bureau!”
