Through the Old Days, Straight to You

In 2028, idol singer Tang Jinxia spots a four-panel photo at her group’s anniversary exhibition, one that shouldn’t exist. In it, she is sixteen, and Gu Yanzhou, beside her, can still smile. He still carries her guitar for her before her audition. Four years later, he dies in an accident at the venue where she makes her debut. She never gets to read the last text he sent her. A photo booth from an old shopping mall has been brought into the exhibition hall. Jinxia tears off a strip of photo paper, and when she opens her eyes again, she has returned to the very minute the picture was taken. At last, she can see the person she once loved again. But each photo offers only a limited number of chances, and at midnight she is sent back to a present that has already changed. Altering an unsent letter or a work order no one has signed might bring them closer again, or put someone else in danger. Jinxia discovers why the lift platform malfunctioned and saves Gu Yanzhou before the accident. Before she can even celebrate, a new report announces that another stage technician fell to his death in the early hours of the next day. Few photos remain, and on that night, every last-minute change of plan leaves someone working late beneath the lights. She must find out who can cut the power and who can open the blocked door, while also making sure everyone has a safe way out. By the time she finally returns to 2028, Gu Yanzhou may no longer be the boy waiting for her in her memories. He has loved someone else, and lived through twelve years she knows nothing about. Can Jinxia still go to him without asking him to repay her for this miracle, and say the words she never managed to speak back then?
