Mingyuan had no talent for martial arts since he was a child, nor did he have any profound attainments in Buddhism. However, he had a skill that no one else had. He was patient, good at doing things, and good at understanding people. He started as the most humble little monk in Zenyue Temple, and gradually discovered that in addition to chanting sutras and practicing martial arts, the temple also had rules, favors, relationships, and various things that needed to be dealt with. With this ability to "get things done", he stepped from behind the scenes to the front of the stage, and eventually became the abbot by accident. After becoming the abbot, Mingyuan's life changed rapidly: rumors about cultural projects, financial transactions, luxury cars, houses, dinners, media, women and children came one after another. He is getting better and better at explaining everything, but gradually forgets the simplest question, what exactly is it. When a report letter appears, seemingly unrelated people and things in the past begin to be reconnected. Investigations, questioning, old accounts, witnesses and a second report followed. Mingyuan tried to explain, but found that everything could be explained clearly, and everything was connected together, but it could no longer be explained. Eventually, he lost his position as abbot, his car, his house, his relationships and his identity, and was even taken away for investigation. Returning to the monastery many years later, he faced the original question again: What does a monk do? This time, Buddha did not answer. Because Mingyuan finally understood that for some questions, others can explain it to you for a lifetime, but in the end you must bear the answer yourself.
