The Meaning of the Aurora

Aurora's Meaning is the full-length sequel to Citizens of a Great Nation, the first-prize winner of the writing contest held to mark the 100th anniversary of the proposal of the Chinese Communist Party's united front policy, under the theme “Walking Together on the Great Path.”

Wan'an Bridge in Pingnan, Fujian, China's longest surviving timber arch corridor bridge, was destroyed in a fire.

The “woven-beam” technique used to build Wan'an Bridge is the same as the one used for Rainbow Bridge in Along the River During the Qingming Festival.

This craft is a living fossil of traditional Chinese construction techniques.

Nie Guangyi, a gifted architect who studied in Italy, returns to his hometown to help rebuild Wan'an Bridge.

Aurora's Meaning takes you on a dreamlike journey through past and present, explores intangible cultural heritage, and unravels the mysteries of art.
