Granny Jia: "Oh, Lao Jia..."
Protagonist: "Granny Jia, you're rusty at this. You have to slap your thigh, with both hands... Put some feeling into it, watch your emotions..."
Yi Zhonghai: "Those are all my lines..."
Liu Haizhong: "Why? Why wasn't I the one who got promoted?"
Yan Bugui: "L-little brother, about this thing with my eldest nephew..."
This story isn't overly hostile, though it does have a certain flavor. There will be some technology-focused storylines about helping the country develop, but the main plot still revolves around the courtyard compound.
As for the protagonist, he was born under the red flag and raised in the spring breeze, so he does have a basic sense of patriotism. He has some principles and a bottom line, but they're probably somewhere below the floorboards.
As the protagonist puts it, if you want to use morality to blackmail someone, you have to have some morality first.
When it comes to shamelessness, heh, he's never been afraid of anyone.
And if you want to compare strength, even better! Do you really think a protagonist who has transmigrated and has a System is that easy to deal with?
Watch as this shameless, amoral, and outrageously powerful protagonist leaves the courtyard's unruly residents crying, "I can't take it anymore! Somebody save me!"
This is not a "serious" period novel. The author will try to recreate the society and customs of the time, but the main focus is on lighthearted wish fulfillment.
If you're the sort of professional nitpicker who likes to "fact-check every detail" and "split hairs over wording," for the sake of your health, you may want to leave your brain here before reading!
