Anti-Japanese War: Grassroots Hero

“Grandpa, were you a hero back then?” the little one, Xiaobao, asked his grandfather, Qian Xiaobao.

“All I know is, I wasn’t a coward back then!” Qian Xiaobao replied.

“What were the heroes you saw like?” Xiaobao asked again.

“Most of the heroes I knew are dead. They were the people who quietly did their work, then quietly went to their deaths. The ones who knew they would die and still went without hesitation.” Qian Xiaobao replied.
