Dragon Raja: The Strange Tale of Lu Mingfei and Jinx

Lu Mingfei finds a purple crystal in his desk, never suspecting it’s a cheat code that lets him transmigrate to Zaun.

Jinx leans against the ropes of a suspension bridge. Neon lights of every color illuminate Zaun, buried beneath the smog. The haze creeps into her nostrils, and she has never found it so acrid.

Silco is dead, and once again she’s a homeless, wandering soul.

At the other end of the universe,

Lu Mingfei is being punished by having to write an apology in the hallway, while facing the immense pressure of his upcoming entrance exams.

“Sigh!”

“Huh?”

Jinx pats her head. This thing is already chaotic enough. Make any more noise and you’ll break it!

Through the purple crystal, Lu Mingfei is astonished to discover that in this city called Zaun, he has become Jinx’s wise old man in a ring.

By day, he attends class and studies. By night, he advises a rebellion.

In China, he is a famous mecha engineer. In Zaun, he is the spiritual leader of its people.

Years later, in the central plaza, as the people of Zaun roar their approval, Jinx drops to one knee and raises the scepter symbolizing leadership high above her head. Softly, she says, “Lu Mingfei, it’s your turn to make an entrance.”
