Ten thousand years ago, the Dark Realm invaded. Humanity retreated into the sea of stars and was trapped behind its border defenses.
Gu Yanchen, a pillar of the Federation, has guarded the frontier for countless ages. Humanity knows him as an undying god and the bulwark of the star sea. No one knows that this hero of the ages is himself a rebel god from beyond the stars, born of the same source as the Dark Realm. For ten thousand years, he has plotted and nurtured his pieces across the world, using all of humanity as a furnace and generations of prodigies as fuel, all to await the maturation of a perfect vessel for the original source: Lu Jin. Bearing the original source of an ancient civilization, lost for countless ages, Lu Jin is humanity's only means of holding the Dark Realm in check and breaking the game, the ultimate variable. Reborn with the memory of his total defeat in his previous life, he enters the game early and turns the tide. He makes his mark in the special training camp and, amid a bloody battle at the Star Lock, rises to godhood from the brink of death. As all of humanity stands on the verge of annihilation, Lu Jin takes up the blade with his own body, follows the path of civilization, and bears the rise and fall of countless ages on his youthful shoulders. You laid your game across ten thousand years and imprisoned humanity for all eternity. I will shatter your boundless illusions and return clarity to the star sea. From this day on, humanity will no longer be a piece on anyone's board. We will forge our own path! From this day on, the star sea will know no bounds, and we will set out toward a new chapter!
