Su Jie could travel between Blue Star and the world of cultivation, but he soon realized that cultivation was incredibly difficult.
Spirit pills and magical artifacts, blessed lands and hidden paradises, spiritual roots and innate understanding: each was a towering mountain on the road to immortality.
Then Su Jie discovered that demonic cultivators refined corpses by killing people, drew baleful energy from souls, and used fear as fuel for their cultivation.
A spirit-summoning banner needs souls for its ritual? There are slaughterhouses that process tens of millions of pigs a year. Look into those.
Need human fear to cultivate vengeful ghosts? There are haunted houses, horror movies, and horror games. Put them all to use...
Demonic arts need blood to cultivate? America, across the ocean, is the world’s largest black-market blood bank...
Years later.
“You fiend, how many innocent people have you killed? And you still have the nerve to call yourself a good person? Bah! Today, I’ll uphold justice on Heaven’s behalf.”
The greatest beauty in the Tianyuan World glared at the terrifying demon king before her, his body entwined with vengeful spirits, his spirit-summoning banner swarming with countless ghosts, and his throne set in a palace of white bones. She demanded an answer from the depths of her soul.
The demon king slowly rose to his feet and pulled out a promotional business card reading: “China’s Philanthropist of the Year / Founder of the World’s Largest Haunted House Chain / Owner of Blue Star’s Largest Livestock and Meat Processing Company / Rising Media Mogul.”
“See? I’m really not a fiend, okay? Who still uses something as lowbrow as killing people to cultivate demonic arts these days!”
