Lin Weimin somehow transmigrates into the body of a young intellectual sent to the countryside. With no parents and no way back to the city, he decides to pursue literature to improve his living conditions. After finally getting two short stories published, he enjoys a few days of happiness before accidentally becoming a student at the Institute of Literary Studies, the predecessor of the National Academy of Literature.
