I dreamed of returning to the Zhenguan era and gazed across a thousand years. How proud the golden ages of Han and Tang, yet in the end they could not escape the collapse and ruin of the realm. The iron hooves of foreign invaders trampled Chang’an, leaving the land of Huaxia in devastation. The carved balustrades and jade steps still remain, but the faces that once knew them have changed. This endless sorrow, when can it be redeemed? I wish I could shatter the heavens and turn the world upside down. So be it. Let me return to Chang’an, use people as my brush, and paint three thousand scrolls to continue the tale of the glorious Tang!
My Tang Dynasty will have no regrets.
