Chinese Showbiz: Starting in 1996

Liu Zhou, a big shot who enjoys a carefree life collecting rent, suddenly finds himself back in 1996, on the day he went to register at the Central Academy of Drama.

Given another chance at life, Liu Zhou wants to take up his old dream of becoming a director.

He enrolls in the academy's screenwriting department and starts out writing plays and novels, advancing one step at a time until he becomes the mainland's fourth-greatest director.

Just when everyone thinks Liu Zhou will keep climbing to new heights in his directing career, they see him chatting and laughing with Ma Ge and a host of other bigwigs.

Just when everyone thinks Liu Zhou has turned into a capitalist, an interview in Time magazine reveals that, without anyone noticing, he has already built a vast entertainment empire.
