(PS1: This book is also known as “What If: Spider-Man Got the Web of Life and Destiny.”)
(PS2: This is a story about a Spider-Man who brings other Spider-Men along as they decide they don't want to be Spider-Man anymore.)
On the eve of Captain America: Civil War, the life of a high school kid named Peter Parker changed dramatically.
Not only was he bitten by a spider, but a strange Web of Life and Destiny also began appearing in his mind from time to time.
He discovered that he could use it to travel to different worlds and experience extraordinary lives!
In each world, he had a different title.
During the Great Depression, he was Spider-Man Noir.
On Counter-Earth, he was Super Spider-Man.
In a parallel universe, he climbed out of a coffin, but he wasn't a zombie spider.
There were also the Amazing Spider-Man, Ultimate Spider-Man...
And in the process, he gained the abilities of countless different Spider-Men!
But he discovered that the Web of Life and Destiny was subtly guiding these “people chosen by the spider,” even putting them through hardship to forge them into Spider-Men.
But that was what Peter intended to fight.
Fate!
He refused to become prey on the Web of Life and Destiny, like all the other “people chosen by the spider.”
He would break free of the Web of Life and Destiny and become its master!
And he would help all the “people chosen by the spider” escape the Web of Life and Destiny's control, so they could take charge of their own destinies!
(Note: The main storyline takes place only in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.)
