Shu Youqing transmigrated to the Kangxi era and became Shu Mulu Youqing, a low-ranking concubine confined to the Cold Palace. She was accompanied by a half-broken System with a farm that promised to keep her fed and clothed. But her original body was frail, and to regain her health, she needed to get the System back in working order.
The System had lost part of itself when it helped Youqing transmigrate, and that missing part happened to land inside Kangxi. As a result, whenever Kangxi touched a woman, he could see ghosts.
Later, Kangxi happened to learn from a female ghost that there was a low-ranking concubine in Jingyang Palace whom ghosts couldn't get near. He began deliberately seeking her out.
P.S. After the female lead transmigrates, the male lead no longer touches any other women.
