“No beauty can rival her,
Her loveliness delights the eye,
Her beauty could topple kingdoms,
She astonishes all beneath the heavens.”
Chu Ci transmigrates to a parallel world and binds herself to the Literary Goddess System. The standard for becoming a Literary Goddess is to excel in both talent and beauty. But this parallel world has none of the poetry and songs from her old world, so Chu Ci writes: “The red lotus fades, its fragrance lingering on the jade mat in autumn. I gently loosen my silk robe and board the small boat alone. Who in the clouds will send a letter on the brocade? As the wild geese return in formation, the moon shines over the western tower.
Flowers drift away on their own, as water flows on. One longing, two places of sorrow. There is no way to dispel this feeling: it leaves my brow, only to settle in my heart.”
