What should you do when Earth needs to evolve? Pick ten thousand people to play a game. If they survive, they save the world. If they die... they’re really dead.
Ge Linuan is one of the ten thousand chosen, but she’s terribly unlucky. She gets picked by the one-in-ten-thousand apocalypse simplified version of the System and is forced into an apocalypse that keeps throwing her into one pitfall after another.
But what kind of lousy System is this? It argues with her every day, and then turns around and insults her. Ge Linuan can’t help crying herself to sleep in the bathroom.
Other people get random missions; she gets elite missions. Other people get elite missions; she gets epic missions. And even when they’re doing the same epic missions, they only have to rescue a dozen or so people, while she has to save over a thousand survivors.
After finally completing a mission, she gets a sword technique, but it’s just a basic one that’s not much use. Even worse, the System shop doesn’t sell swords at all, so she has no choice but to spend her own money on a blade technique. But what in the world is this “five-battle-losses-out-of-ten blade technique” supposed to be?
She thinks she’s had a massive stroke of luck when a mutated dog takes a liking to her, but even that turns out to be a trap: she’s always the one getting abandoned. As a husky, all it does is eat and run away. Then a turtle latches onto her, but this turtle is an even bigger pain. Whenever danger strikes, it just farts to knock her out. It’s useless for anything else.
Sure enough, there’s no such thing as the worst, only worse. She’s a breath of fresh air in the apocalypse, constantly pushing her luck and struggling on the brink of death under the guidance of the sister-betraying simplified apocalypse System.
