The Zuo family has no sons, only three daughters.
People from all the surrounding villages laugh: "Just you wait. One day they won't even have a man to shoulder the burden. They should've adopted a son years ago!"
But the villagers don't know that the Zuo family's three sons-in-law each have a golden finger.
The eldest daughter's husband is reborn. Forget shouldering burdens, he can even carry his father-in-law up a mountain for a leisurely stroll.
The second daughter's husband has an accident and wakes up with a pocket dimension containing a little pond. Drinking its water seems to make him fairer. What a hunter could do with fair skin, though, is anyone's guess.
The youngest daughter's husband passes the county-level exams and goes on to take the prefectural-level exams. Every time he passes, a huge beast appears, scaring him into running so fast he leaves afterimages.
If all their golden fingers belong to the sons-in-law, what if they change their minds someday?
The Zuo daughters: "Don't worry. They don't know how to use them. Without us, they're as good as dead."
Years later, Old Man Zuo sighs: "What's a golden finger, really? It's sticking together as a family. If you can stick together and make a good life, you've got one too."
