Gu Chen, originally from Earth, is reborn as the Golden Dragon King. During the Dragon God War, he escapes through space and time with the Silver Dragon King, Gu Yuena, and arrives in the Star Dou Great Forest of Douluo I.
Because of Gu Chen, he and Gu Yuena are not badly injured. To build up the soul beast forces on Douluo Dalu, the two beasts seal their power, take human form, and venture deep into the human world.
Gu Chen joins Shrek Academy alongside Gu Yuena and Tang San’s team, but his talent is exposed, attracting the attention of Spirit Hall’s experts, who try to recruit him by force.
“Can you tell me why you’re taking me away from Shrek?” Confusion showed in Gu Yuena’s crystal-like purple eyes.
Gu Chen grinned. Looking at Tang San and the others’ reluctant expressions, then at Gu Yuena before him, he replied, “Only by taking control of Spirit Hall can soul beasts ever turn their fortunes around!”
