Bai Lu opened her eyes and found herself the powerful man’s little wife.
At first, he said, “Don’t provoke me. I’m not a gentle man.”
Later, he learned her gentleness and gave her all the tenderness of both his past and present lives. He even told her, “I can’t live without you.”
At their first meeting, the marks of time had already crept into the corners of his eyes, yet the man’s handsome, distinguished face was still breathtaking at first sight. His brutality, cold-bloodedness, and heartlessness were all concealed beneath his deep, silent, icy gaze. The carefully prepared hypnotic setting had no effect on him whatsoever.
His mind was perfectly clear as he looked at her without a flicker of emotion.
Bai Lu had always been the good child other parents admired: well-behaved and sensible, she obeyed her parents and, after graduating, followed the expected path into work as a hypnotherapist.
If she hadn’t unexpectedly learned that an international case her father was investigating was connected to Xiao Cheng, she would never have risked going behind his back to hypnotize Xiao Cheng and enter his memories in search of clues.
She had read Xiao Cheng’s file. His father was a compulsive gambler. His mother abandoned him when he was three, and not long after his father remarried, both his father and stepmother died. His younger brother later went missing in an accident, too.
Xiao Cheng had clawed his way up alone from the darkness and built his success from nothing. His psychological defenses were far too strong for Bai Lu to overcome. She only managed to access some of his memories before the hypnosis was unexpectedly interrupted.
When she met him a second time, the plane she was on disappeared over the Bermuda Triangle.
When she opened her eyes again, she had traveled back more than twenty years.
She had become Xiao Cheng’s young wife, who had died early...
What she never expected was that even a vicious dragon could be gentle, willing to become a thorn to protect her as her rose bloomed in radiant splendor.
