He unexpectedly obtains half of a broken bamboo slip left by his ancestor. It is a fragment of The Fates of Heaven, a forbidden text recording the fortunes of the seven kingdoms. Whoever obtains the complete text can control the course of the world.
The Rong clan, an established family and a ruling power in Zhao, learns of the news and joins forces with powerful court officials to hunt Long De down, seeking to seize the fragment, monopolize the world’s fortune, and kill him. Living as a commoner among nobles and dignitaries, Long De must complete the System’s missions: bringing down powerful ministers, earning the King of Zhao’s trust, and consolidating the remnants of the Yin-Yang School, among others. These missions unlock more divination arts and items. He must also guard against the System’s occasional deadly assignments, holding fast to his resolve to find a way for the people to survive as he struggles against the System.
Long De’s identity is unusual. The Yin-Yang School’s teachings are already feared by the other schools, and if his identity is exposed, the whole world will hunt him down. The alliance of five kingdoms against Qin is already underway, leaving Long De only one year to find the complete forbidden text and uncover the fate of the world.
