Inherited by: The orthodox descendant of Qingwu Sect in Jiangnan. When he was young, he traveled with his master throughout the mountains and rivers. He read through the "Book of Burial", "Three Essentials of Yangzhai" and "Shaking the Dragon Sutra". He cultivated both body, law and qi. He did not pretend to be gods or ghosts, nor was he superstitious about magic spells. He believed in the original meaning of Kanyu, which is to harness energy, harmonize yin and yang, and put people first.
Items: An ancient bronze compass left behind by the master; a torn handwritten volume of "Qingwu Notes".
Personality: Looks thin and calm, restrains his speech, and does not rely on his skills to be arrogant. Always have compassion for the poor; when facing high-ranking officials and wealthy businessmen, be neither humble nor arrogant, and do not set up a situation for self-interest at the expense of others. Strictly abide by the Earth Master's precepts: do not help evildoers seek good fortune, do not block luck for the greedy, do not break up true marriages, and do not make arbitrary judgments about life, death, misfortune, and blessings.
Character arc: When he first came out, he believed that pattern can solve the misery of the world. He traveled around and saw countless people: some people got Feng Shui to help them luck and stayed good and strong, and they turned around; Shen Yan gradually understood: Kanyu is a way to save the world, but it is by no means a universal antidote. Earth masters can transform mountains and rivers and houses, but it is most difficult to conquer stubborn people's hearts.
