The Legal Dynasty

Ten years ago, Shen Hongyuan, Jiangcheng’s top lawyer, was sent to prison over a financial fraud case, and the Shen family collapsed overnight. Ten years later, Shen Hongyuan’s son, Shen Ze, is a down-and-out lawyer living in a rented room in an urban village, with less than a hundred yuan in his bank account. He receives an anonymous call: the evidence in your father’s case is still out there. To clear his father’s name, Shen Ze starts with a dying person’s final request at a funeral home, gradually exposing the mastermind who framed the Shen family: Gu Beichen, the head of Jiangcheng’s leading financial conglomerate, the Gu Group. All he has is an incomplete manuscript left by his father, an encrypted USB drive, and an unyielding determination not to lose. As Gu Beichen weaves a legal trap with money, witnesses disappear one after another, and the archives mysteriously catch fire, Shen Ze uncovers an even deeper secret: among the Gu Group’s ten years of money-laundering transactions is a company registered under the Shen family’s name. That means bringing down Gu Beichen could also destroy the Shen family for good. Fortunately, he is not alone in the darkness. The secret files held by financial journalist Lin Wan, Lawyer Zhou’s decade of quiet, patient protection, and the people Shen Hongyuan once helped all come to his aid, one by one. This is both a legal battle in which a poor young man takes on a financial giant and the story of a fallen family rising from the ashes. Shen Ze says, “Ten years ago, someone used the law to destroy my family. Ten years later, I’ll use the law to take it back.”
