At the age of thirty-seven, Cao Mo felt that he had become a complete joke.
Unemployment, mortgage, and milk powder money have all been lost. His wife Gu Qingyu said she disliked him, but secretly worked part-time at the night market to supplement the family's income; his mother Cao Meifang called him every now and then to urge him to "live up"; and his daughter, who had just turned 22 months old and couldn't even speak fluently, always called him vaguely - "Dad" late at night.
Just because of this sound, he was reluctant to accept his fate.
But he tried again and again: the interview was rejected, the business lost money, and even the last chance to make a comeback was intercepted.
On the day of desperation, he found a card of unknown origin in an old coat, with only one line of words on it:
"Do you want to give your daughter a better life?"
By some strange coincidence, he dialed the phone number.
From that day on, Cao Mo seemed to be a different person. He cheered up, counterattacked, had a successful career, harmonious family, and made up for the lost time bit by bit.
Only occasionally late at night, he would stand in front of the window for a long time, his eyes empty, as if he was looking for someone.
And his grown-up daughter always stubbornly called him - "Daddy Mo".
Is that Cao Mo who is successful, happy, and envied by everyone, really him?
Or... Had he lost the part of himself that really wanted to say "I love you" to his daughter in person at a certain moment?
This is my first book, I hope you will support it, thank you!
