[Synopsis] All characters in this story are over eighteen. Just after coming of age, Lin Wan learns that her best friend Xinxin is under the control of Lin Zhenshan, a powerful businessman. She reports him to the police, but they lack conclusive evidence. To save her friend, she deliberately gets close to him and tries to play along, only to fall into his trap instead. She fails to rescue her friend and gets dragged into the mire herself. At first, she compromises and keeps her head down as they engage in a battle of wits. But as they spend day after day together, feelings quietly begin to grow. Even though it ends in a picture-perfect happy ending, the heroine never loses sight of the truth: his tenderness later on cannot erase the scheming and coercion at the start.
