Shen Nianci and Wei Shuwan are migrant worker best friends who stay up late together in real life. Two senior men and women had just finished working overtime all night, and encountered a car accident on their way back by taxi. When they opened their eyes again, they both entered an ancient plot novel that they had read before going to bed.
In the book, the original owner Shen Nianci is the legitimate daughter of Duke Dingshuo and the only daughter of Border Marshal Shen Zhaoyue. He has been well protected by his parents since he was a child. He has a gentle and pure temperament and does not understand the sinister nature of people's hearts. Just as her engagement to the prince was about to come, her jealous cousin Su Mingyue made a false invitation and coaxed her to go to the cliff in the suburbs, and then cruelly pushed her down. In order to save her best friend, Wei Shuwan, the second female lead in the original novel, was also tragically implicated and fell off a cliff together, ending the story.
The modern soul takes over the body and falls from the workplace into the turbulent whirlpool of ancient nobles. On one side is the father, a marshal who holds a large number of troops and is famous in both the government and the public. There are many suspicions and murderous intentions in the court; on the other side there are hypocritical relatives and the princes and princes who have their own ambitions. Every step is a trap.
In the past, they had to deal with KPIs and overtime, but now they have to deal with family intrigues and disputes over heir apparents. The two people, who are familiar with the direction of the plot, must rewrite the fate of falling off a cliff and dying tragically, protect their family, defend each other in the chess game of power, and find a way to survive amidst the lights and shadows of swords.
