The Red Paper Gang responds to the dramatic transformation of Nan'an District from a banana village to a modern city in the context of urban villages in Nan'an District. From the rise of the Nanping business district in the 1990s and the new development and establishment of Nanbin Road in 2000, the transformation of urban villages was carried out on a large scale. Until 2018, all villages under the jurisdiction of Nanping Town were abolished. In the 2020s, Changjiahui City was established. The reception room, Chongqing East Railway Station, Guangyang Island, and smart innovation ecology have been established one after another, and the former Dongcun District is being built into a beautiful unit in a modern city.
