Ember Era: the Thirteenth Seal

Black rain has been falling for three days. The rain is a sickly gray-white color, and when it falls on the skin, it will cause a slight stinging sensation, as if countless tiny ants are gnawing at the pores. This is a typical sign of "divine eclipse" polluting the atmosphere. Ian Vance stood at the entrance of the alley, his black waterproof windbreaker almost blending into the night. He glanced down at the brass pocket watch in his hand. The second hand was spinning crazily counterclockwise. "Target confirmed, codenamed 'Skinner', divine corrosion level: lower level of engraving. Danger level: C+." The mechanical and cold voice of the logistics team came from the earphones, accompanied by the noise of electricity, "Ian, your 'scavenger' license expires in three hours. This is your last order of the month, don't screw it up." "Roger that." Ian closed his pocket watch and stuffed it back into his inner breast pocket. He raised his head and looked through the layers of rain, locking on the half-opened iron door deep in the alley. What came out of the crack in the door was not a light, but a dark red light that looked like coagulated blood. He pushed open the door and entered. The room was filled with a sickly sweet smell, the smell of rotten internal organs mixed with the fermentation of some cheap perfume. The furniture in the room had been pushed to the corners, and the floor was corroded by some kind of strong acid. In the center of the room, a corpse was suspended in the air in a strange posture.
