The protagonist, Lu Yu, is a rising male actor.
After what appears to be a car accident, he is abducted by a mysterious organization and taken to a sunless underground facility.
There, he meets a man who looks exactly like him, right down to his build.
The man is a carefully crafted double, meant to take his place in the world above and claim his career, connections, and even his lover.
The real Lu Yu is imprisoned in a cell, while his double walks among the living.
His lover has also fallen into enemy hands. Out in the world, everyone mistakes the fake for the real him.
To survive, find his missing lover, and expose this elaborate deception, Lu Yu pretends to cooperate, planting subtle flaws throughout the memories he provides.
Though trapped underground, he lays a puzzle from afar.
As the double uses his identity to move among their associates, those hidden flaws are Lu Yu’s only signals for help from the outside.
And so begins a desperate struggle for survival.
