A Bubble Takes Illusory Form, Jade Hides the Bones

Three hundred years ago, the foremost fortune-teller of the Xuan School, the “Heaven-Questioning Master,” saw too much of the secrets of heaven and was struck down by divine retribution, her soul scattered. Three hundred years later, she is reincarnated as Chen Mo, a “fat, ugly woman” mocked across the internet in a modern city. Her memories are incomplete, her spiritual power sealed, and all she has left is the instinct to “touch the threads of karma with a single glance.” One glance on the subway reveals a person’s karmic ties. In three seconds at the office, she sees through her manager’s corruption. A bronze mirror at a secondhand market leads to a string of murders... Using the remnants of her fortune-telling instincts, Chen Mo gradually uncovers the truth from three hundred years ago: the person who reported her was her closest friend in her previous life, Ji Wujiu, now known as “Guixu,” and the root of the cracks in karma turns out to be herself. In the end, Chen Mo joins forces with Lu Heng, her disciple from her previous life. With Guixu’s spiritual power to repay the debt, they mend the cracks in karma on the winter solstice. The divine retribution is lifted, her heavenly eye closes, and she goes from a master fortune-teller at the peak of her power back to an ordinary person. The copper coins are spent, but the fragments remain.
