The Ark is humanity’s last refuge, but the people who built it aren’t on the boarding list.
Structural engineer Lin Shen has worked at the Ark construction site for three years, personally welding every keel seam. But his seven-year-old daughter’s place aboard was given to a real estate tycoon’s son. Meanwhile, geologist Su Qing discovers that the tsunami will arrive a full nine days earlier than expected. She gives up her official evacuation spot and returns to an inland town designated as an “abandoned zone,” where she joins her mother and a group of elderly people and children to save themselves.
After the Ark sets sail, the keel seams begin to crack. Lin Shen welded them, and he’s the only one who can repair them.
The people who were abandoned have become the only ones who can save the Ark.
