Fate is written, and all living beings follow the script.
Gu Shenxing was merely a menial without a spiritual root in the Qingxuan Sect’s Scripture Pavilion.
That is, until a black corpse cart returning from Blackwind Ridge carried an ancient book whose writing only he could see.
It read:
“At noon tomorrow, Gu Shenxing will die by a bandit’s blade.”
Using his blood as ink, he changed “death” to “injury.”
The next day, he survived, just as he had written.
But the blade that should have taken his life struck someone else instead.
Later, the Heavenly Book wrote:
“Gu Shenxing was born without a spiritual root and will never cultivate in this life.”
He changed “without” to “with,” and began his path of cultivation.
But the spiritual root that suddenly appeared was identical to that of an inner sect disciple who had been dead for many years.
The cold and beautiful senior sister was supposed to become his enemy, so he changed “enemy” to “wife.”
They really did become Dao companions, but on their wedding night, she still drew her sword and cut open his chest.
Gradually, Gu Shenxing understood that the Heavenly Book never lied, but it never told him the whole truth either.
It only recorded the outcome.
How many people would die along the way, and what price would be paid, was never written in the book.
From his own life and death to the sect’s destruction; from the fate of a city’s hundred thousand people to the rise and fall of dynasties and the survival of all the heavens.
As the Heavenly Book’s seven seals gradually came undone, Gu Shenxing discovered that what he possessed was no ordinary magical treasure, but the only complete Heavenly Book in existence.
The fate of all living beings had already been written.
And the single character he changed each day was now part of a struggle with the one wielding the brush behind the Heavenly Book, a struggle for the whole world.
