Inheriting the Dao of Qingxuan
For a thousand years, the Qingxuan Sect of Kunlun has upheld the righteous path of the human world. After reaching the threshold of ascension, Sect Master Yun Yan retires from his post, lays down his burdens, and retreats to a secluded mountain retreat to cultivate in seclusion. He entrusts the sect’s jade seal, bearer of its entire legacy, and its immortal sword, guardian of the mountain, to his personal disciple Xie Linyuan, the most gifted cultivator of the past century.
Just a hundred years old, pure-hearted and cool-tempered Xie Linyuan is appointed in a time of crisis, becoming the youngest sect master in Qingxuan’s history. His path changes from quiet cultivation and minding his own affairs to the enormous burden of caring for thousands of disciples, guarding the mountain’s protective barrier, and standing against the world’s evil forces. Fortunately, his second senior disciple Su Qinghe, who has cultivated alongside him since childhood, stands by his side. Newly installed as sect master, Xie Linyuan must learn from scratch how to handle the sect’s endless affairs, resolve conflicts among the disciples over cultivation, and repair the mountain-protecting formation, weakened by age. At the same time, he perseveres in his own cultivation, breaks through the bottleneck of the Soul Transformation realm, descends the mountain to eliminate monsters wreaking havoc in the mortal world, and deals with the probing and provocations of other immortal sects.
