[Transmigrate to Cultivation · Hilarious Anticonventional Plot · Bandit Style · Play the Pig to Eat the Tiger]
Lu Ye, a discharged soldier from Blue Star, transmigrates into the body of the boss of Wolftiger Stronghold on Mount Cangwu, a man skilled at robbing and looting. Seeing little profit in the mortal world, he overturns a century-old family rule and declares, “If we’re going to rob someone, let’s rob immortals.” Just then, the top female cultivator Shen Moyi falls into the mortal realm, badly wounded. The ancient Treasure-Gathering Talisman Bone in his chest suddenly shines, and he decides she’s a fat target. He knocks her out with a club and carries her back to the stronghold.
Before he can search her belongings, Shen Moyi wakes up and threatens him with death, dragging him into the cultivation world. She makes him swear to reach the Golden Core Realm within ten years, or he’ll immediately self-destruct and die. Once he enters the Lingxiao Sect, Lu Ye discovers he has no spiritual roots and is a good-for-nothing, left to suffer abuse as a lowly menial disciple.
With no way forward through hard cultivation, he simply returns to his old trade and charges through the immortal sects with a bandit’s mentality. He robs people in a mask for spirit stones and cultivation techniques, and impersonates an outer sect disciple. Relying on his natural strength and fighting skills, he takes on Qi Refining cultivators head-on, then uses cave-dwelling challenges as an excuse to seize their territory. He falls asleep in the Transmissions Hall, only to be mistaken by Yan Cangwu, a grandmaster of the blade, for a once-in-a-millennium blade cultivator.
While everyone else cultivates by meditating, Lu Ye does it by robbing. He cleaves open a path to immortality with his murderous blade intent, transforming from a bandit into the “Immortal Bandit” famed throughout the Southern Border. Along the way, he delivers one face-slapping moment after another, gradually uncovering the ancient secrets of the Treasure-Gathering Talisman Bone and the astonishing plot spanning the Nine Heavens that lies behind Shen Moyi.
