The 1980S: A Deserter Returns Home, Taking a Small Workshop to Heavy Industry Powerhouse

Lin Cheng, a senior engineer from the modern era, accidentally transmigrated to 1987 into the body of a government-sponsored overseas student. The original owner had no regard for discipline or the rules. During his studies abroad, he changed majors without permission and tried to stay overseas, becoming a deserter despised by everyone. With nowhere else to turn, he returned to China through the embassy and was sent to a factory to do menial labor. Armed with top-tier knowledge in mechanical research and development, Lin Cheng refused to let his abilities go to waste. He took apart imported prototypes, cracked the formula for specialty rubber seals, and developed high-precision hydraulic cylinder manufacturing techniques. Starting from a rundown workshop, he filled gaps in China’s industrial capabilities and built a complete, independent manufacturing system. He cleared his name, broke through the overseas technology blockade, and single-handedly forged a great manufacturing nation worthy of China!
