Deep Spring, Unaware of the Cold

A modern soul transmigrates into the body of Zhao Ji, Emperor Huizong of Song, and from the start finds himself caught in a deadly scheme by powerful ministers. To find a way out, he enters the Fanylou, where he unexpectedly discovers that Li Shishi, Bianjing’s top-tier star courtesan, has been secretly gathering intelligence. One is a cold, ruthless emperor determined to save his country; the other is a clear-eyed courtesan seeking freedom. There is no romance, only a fierce tug-of-war between the imperial court and the pleasure quarters. He uses her intelligence network to purge the court, while she helps him navigate one deadly step after another. When the flames of the Jingkang Disaster ignite, she is offered to the enemy as a bargaining chip. He throws off his disguise and flies into a furious rage, while she deftly maneuvers in enemy territory, passing along military intelligence to help him turn the tables. Watch as these two formidable players see how the emperor reshapes the land and the courtesan washes away her past, standing side by side with the one she loves beneath the heavens.
