The Fifth Year Since He Disappeared

Su Luo: She hates Huo Bai. She hates him for leaving without a word five years ago, and for taking five million from the Su family before walking away. Then the Su family went bankrupt, her father went to prison, and her mother had to depend on others for a place to stay. Su Luo gradually forgot about him as she struggled to survive. Huo Bai: He loves Su Luo. That is why he returned to the Shen family and spent five years climbing to a position where he could stand before her as her equal. When they meet again five years later, she has gone from a wealthy heiress to being buried in debt, while he has risen from a poor boy to a shining star. She rejects his advances, yet can't let him go. He steals her clients and uses low, underhanded tactics to edge closer to her, carefully, little by little. Only when the truth from five years ago is gradually laid bare does she learn that... The abandonment that had brought her unbearable pain was his deepest act of protection.
