The 1970s: Taking on Three Families, Starting with Livestock Farming

In his previous life, Yang Yuemin's gambling addiction made him miss the window for treating his daughter's polio. One day, after being mocked by the neighbor's children, his daughter chased after them, thirsty. As she drank from the riverbank, she fell headfirst into the water and was gone forever. That night, his third wife jumped into the river and killed herself. Not long afterward, his second wife miscarried, fell into depression, and hanged herself. Yang's mother couldn't bear the blow and passed away too. After settling everything, his first wife slept with Yang Yuemin one last time, then left the family as well...

Looking at the rundown courtyard he had lived in at twenty, Yang Yuemin wept. He swore to himself that in this life, he would give them a happy, complete home!
