In the late autumn of the 32nd year of the Republic of China, a young fisherman from Baijiagou, Dongting Lake, picked up a Japanese army leather boot with a blood letter inside: "Explode tomorrow night." This was the alarm sent by the kidnapped teacher.
Overnight, the peace was shattered. Twelve teenagers - the oldest is seventeen and the youngest is nine years old - led by the teenage "boss", decided to fight in their own way. There are no guns and cannons, only familiarity with this water area: the old hunter's son knows the mountain roads, the bamboo craftsman's bamboo basket can weave the beard net that will entangle the propeller, the medicine collector's child can identify poisonous gas, and the "water monkey" with the best water ability can feel every hidden pile under the water.
They formulated an almost crazy "fishing plan": using special fishing nets to entangle the Japanese ship transporting poison gas bombs, falsely conveying orders to lead it into the Jedi "Vortex of Hell", and then dive and scuttle it. Lime powder blinded the eyes, local firecrackers built momentum, and a secret battle on the lake led by a young man started in the thick fog at midnight.
From then on, the reeds in Baijiagou hid not only fish and shrimps, but also a dragnet that made it difficult for the invaders to move forward. This is a growth ripened by blood and fire. It is an unsinkable past story of home and country written with fishing nets, bamboo sticks, local accents and blood.
