The Night Before the Snowstorm Divorce, the Young Lord Turns Gray-Haired Overnight

When Jiang Yingxue was seven, her father entrusted her to the heir of the Duke of Jin, and she became his so-called younger sister.

For ten years, he stayed by her side, taught her to read, kept her warmly clothed, and cherished her even more than his own sister.

Later, she took a sword meant for him. The imperial physician said she would never be able to bear children.

Because of that, she married Yan Shihan.

She thought he would be her home, until one night she heard him with her own ears, discussing a divorce with his widowed sister-in-law.

At last, she understood: she was only the object of his guilt, not the one he loved.

To grant them their wish, Jiang Yingxue took the initiative and wrote a divorce agreement.

"Yan Shihan, let's divorce."

He glanced at it and answered flatly, "All right."

·

Then the imperial edict, bright yellow as the sun, arrived.

The Empress herself had granted Jiang Yingxue permission to divorce him.

With bloodshot eyes, he rushed back from the frontier, only to find an empty courtyard and the last words she had left behind:

"Yan Shihan, I don't want you anymore."

·

Later, Yan Shihan, whose power reached across the imperial court, threw caution to the wind and rushed to Quzhou to find her.

But there she was, leaning against the doorway, her eyes bright and a faint smile on her lips.

"I'm getting married."
