Spoil Her Rotten

Clear-headed sweetheart + older, paternal powerbroker /Marriage first, love later/Powerful man lowers his head/Years in the making/ After six years together, just as they were about to marry, Yu Yan was dumped when her boyfriend said, “My dad would never let someone with your background into the family.” Yu Yan scoffed inwardly. She knew He Fan's ideal woman was back, and it was time for her to step aside. While she was still reeling from the breakup, He Chiyan, the true head of the He family and Lingcheng's most eligible bachelor, offered her a marriage contract. “Marry me, and you can get everything you want, and get revenge on him, too.” The good news: ten million in monthly spending money, generous support and resources, a husband who's supposedly away on business all year, no interference in each other's lives, and the chance to lord her seniority over her ex. The bad news: her husband being away on business all year is a lie, and so is the promise to leave each other alone. On the very night they get their marriage license, he pins her to the bed and kisses her until she can't breathe. He comes home every night and is exceptionally enthusiastic about married life. Later, He Fan gets down on his knees in front of everyone and begs her to take him back. He Chiyan wraps an arm around her waist. “He Fan, say one more crazy thing and you're out of the He family.” In the dead of night, He Chiyan buries his face against Yu Yan's neck. “Yu Yan, forget everyone else and love me, okay?” “Yu Yan, who are you thinking about?” “Yu Yan, you can only think about me.” “Yu Yan, let's have a baby, okay?” Yu Yan always thought her marriage to He Chiyan was just a transaction where each got what they wanted, so she never dared give him her heart. It isn't until the truth comes out that she learns this marriage, which saved her from a desperate situation, was the result of six years of careful plotting on his part. (Devoted to each other, ten-year age gap, male lead who says what he feels, no angst for the heroine, no frustrating misunderstandings, and good for your blood pressure.)
