Reborn in 1981, he wakes up in the brigade warehouse, with a young female intellectual from the city lying beside him, having cried herself unconscious!
Chen Yang is stunned. In his previous life, he was framed and branded a hooligan, his family was ruined, and the woman beside him was driven to jump into a river and die.
Now he has opened his eyes again, only to find tragedy repeating itself? The footsteps of people coming to catch them in the act are already outside!
He first slaps down the poisonous fiancée who set him up, then drops to one knee before the young woman in front of everyone. “I’ll marry you! I swear I’ll never let you down in this life!”
The whole village laughs: What can a good-for-nothing do to support a city girl? Just wait till they starve to death!
Chen Yang only sneers. He takes his brothers straight to the ponds and into the county town, making a fortune selling eels and wild game. He hurls his first pot of gold right in the faces of everyone who looked down on him!
He buys his wife the first pair of red leather shoes in the village and brings home the fattiest pork lard. As their life flourishes, jealous troublemakers start showing up. Thugs block his way? He swings a stick and takes them on! His ex-fiancée stirs up trouble? He tears the veil off her premarital pregnancy!
Watch as the former playboy dotes on his beloved wife with one hand and builds a path to fortune with the other, starting from a tiny, muddy pond and shaking up the whole era!
Those who once trampled him will eventually kneel and watch him rise to greatness!
