Her parents sacrificed their lives saving someone, but her grandparents, uncles, and aunts seized the compensation and house, intent on leaving her family with nothing.
To wipe out the last trace of the family, five-year-old Nuan Nuan was cursed as a "jinx" and thrown into the deep mountains on a snowy day to feed the wolves!
At the brink of death, she awakened the ability to understand the thoughts of all things, as long as she fed them.
She gave half a piece of steamed corn bread to a crow, and it searched the resource-starved world for treasures for her with pinpoint accuracy.
She poured a spoonful of water on some withered grass, and a ginseng doll leaped into her back basket, begging to be taken along.
After a kind new mother found her and brought her home, the villagers all laughed: "That poor family picked up a jinx. Just wait, they'll all starve to death together!"
But no matter how poor her new mother was, she still fed the last mouthful of rice soup to Nuan Nuan.
With tears in her eyes, Nuan Nuan swore: "You saved me, so I'll help the whole family soar!"
Later, while the rest of the village was still gnawing on corn bread, Nuan Nuan's family ate lavish feasts every meal, living so well that everyone was green with envy!
Her new father, who had been in a vegetative state, woke up and became a commanding officer who struck fear into the region.
Her autistic eldest brother became a genius scientist, while her timid second brother became a business magnate.
Even her frail new mother was adored and pampered into the most beautiful society lady in the capital!
Her awful relatives went mad with jealousy and knelt at the door, begging for forgiveness.
Nuan Nuan waved her little hand, and the big black dog guarding the door lunged at them: "Woof! Get lost! Don't you dare come near my family's little lucky charm!"
Just as Nuan Nuan was being doted on by her new family and had completely decided to lie flat, two elegantly dressed bigwigs suddenly showed up at the door.
Nuan Nuan tilted her head. Huh? Weren't those two her biological parents, who were said to have died in the line of duty?
What was this... a mass resurrection?!
