The fragrance of locust flowers filled the alleys of Beijing in midsummer. Lin Wanwan, holding the design draft, ran into the youth of Jiang Yu, who was carrying a picture folder. A bowl of hot noodle soup on a rainy night and the gentle moonlight in a courtyard tightly tied two people who were strangers together.
In Jiang Yu's paintings, the romance of Dali is hidden, as well as the shadow of a Bai girl named A Yue. Lin Wanwan's design embodies the fireworks of the alley and full expectations for the future. They stepped on the ice of Shichahai to confirm their love, and made a private decision for life together with the grapevines in the courtyard. They agreed to go see the moon of Erhai Lake and the snow of Cangshan Mountain together.
A quick trip to Dali fulfilled Jiang Yu's concern for his old friend and allowed their love to take root on the Erhai Lake. The green plum wine in the Bai courtyard, the blue and white patterns in the dyeing workshop, and the cry of the newborn daughter turned life into poetry. But the storm of fate suddenly came on the winding mountain road, and an accident tore apart all the perfection.
Jiang Yu rested at the foot of Cangshan Mountain, leaving Lin Wanwan alone with her daughter to guard the dyeing workshop and the green plum blossoms in the courtyard. As time goes by, the blue silk is stained with frost, and the locust flowers and the moon on the tie-dyed cloth become thoughts that span the mountains and seas.
The snow in Cangshan Mountain falls every year, the moonlit night of Erhai Lake is bright, and the fragrance of Sophora japonica in the old alley floats through the wind of Dali. Love and longing have never dissipated. Year after year, the fragrance of Sophora japonica remains the same.
