Your Majesty, This Frail Wife Begs for Your Tenderness

[Authentic Palace Intrigue and a Truly Favored Consort] [The Emperor's Favor] [The Emperor Takes His Minister's Wife] [A Fussy, Seductive Beauty]

Shen Si was doted on by Crown Prince Gu Lingjun from childhood. The first time she begged him, she said she was afraid to enter the Eastern Palace and face its schemes and rivalries. He allowed her to remain at home until she was of age, then enter the palace as his consort after he ascended the throne.

The second time she begged him, the new emperor had just taken the throne. Though she was at the height of her favor, she knelt at the palace gates on the night before entering the palace and begged His Majesty to grant her marriage to the renowned young Marquis Xie. She wanted only to share life and death with him, not enter the palace as a concubine.

In an unprecedented move, the emperor issued the decree and spared her entire clan, but did not see her.

On the night she was reborn for the third time, she arrived at the palace in plain clothes with her hair loose, so upset and frightened that she forgot herself before the throne. She threw herself into the arms of the man who was now emperor, begging for his favor and insisting that she wanted to divorce Xie Queshan. Only after dying once did she understand that the emperor's favor was what could keep her alive.

“Your Majesty, please be gentle with me.”

Shen Si had been crying for ages. It had only been three years. Had His Majesty already forgotten her?

Gu Lingjun held her in his arms, his eyes unreadable. “What kind of gentleness do you mean?”

Shen Si steeled herself and kissed him on the lips. “Your Majesty said you would love me to the bone.”

Gu Lingjun looked at her delicate, pitiful face. How could she possibly withstand it?
