Master of mystic arts Cai Lingyu was tricked by her master into joining a dating reality show. At a glance, she saw that top-tier star and award-winning actor Gu Beichen was cursed with a century-old solitary fate: anyone who got close to him would suffer misfortune!
From the start, a chandelier crashed down in front of her, and lightning struck a tree. Cai Lingyu turned and ran. "This jinx brings bad luck to his wife, friends, and coworkers. I wouldn't join this show for any amount of money!"
But Gu Beichen grabbed her and pulled her into his arms. "Why run? If you can see my curse, you can break it. While we're on the show, you're responsible for staying by my side."
The livestream chat exploded: #HasTheAwardWinningActorBeenHexed? #WhatMakesThisCharlatanSoSpecial!
From then on, the top-tier star begged her to cuddle him every day.
She hid in the bathroom, and he blocked the door. "Master Cai, where did you learn my birth details?"
She cast a hexagram that foretold disaster, and he brought her sweet-and-sour ribs. "You need to eat your fill to have the strength to ward off a bloody calamity."
Until one day, Gu Beichen pinned her in a corner, his eyes dark with unfathomable emotion. "The curse has been broken, but this..."
He took her hand and pressed it to his heart. "The calamity you brought upon me, shouldn't I spend my whole life repaying you for it?"
Cai Lingyu counted on her fingers. Oh no!
This love curse was even more dangerous than the solitary fate. It seemed... she couldn't escape!
