To ensure their clan flourishes, the Gu family holds a monthly Immortal Staff Festival in the desolate hills outside the city, sending their women up the mountain to conceive children.
After Gu Yang is betrayed and his cultivation plummets, he is like a tiger brought low, forced to attend. But through a twist of fate, he is made to father a child for the Female Emperor.
He obtains the treasured Genesis Diagram, whose wondrous powers are boundless. At last, the trapped dragon breaks free, lifting its head and roaring across the nine heavens.
Gu Yang: “I want back everything I'm owed!”
The Female Emperor: “You definitely can't take back the seed you lent me, but you can take the child home.”
