"Original Sin Purgatory" is based on real life, telling the story of the love between Lian Lian, an art college student, and Mi Fan, an academic tycoon, whose love was shattered in the tribulations of reality, and the two fell into a fateful dilemma.
Lian Lian is a sober realist who refuses to trade her looks for shortcuts. She relies on multiple part-time jobs such as tutoring, handing out flyers, and washing dishes in restaurants to support her studies and subsidize poor families. After falling in love with Mi Fan, she saw him shivering in thin clothes in the cold winter. She secretly went to the hotel lobby to sing, hoping to earn 3,000 yuan to buy a decent set of clothes for Mi Fan, but she was unaware of the evil intentions of the hotel owner Yuan Duo'ao (nicknamed "Tibetan Mastiff").
Yuan Duo'ao had already been eyeing Lian Lian. He learned that she only drank Sprite when she was tired, so he bought a box of Sprite and injected it with hallucinogenic drugs. He also deliberately arranged for people to keep asking for songs to make her sing until she was exhausted. After Lian Lian finished singing, she went to collect her salary. She drank Sprite when she was extremely thirsty, and then lost her mind. She was taken to the presidential suite by Yuan Duo Ao and violated, and was also threatened on video. For the next week, Lian Lian became Yuan Duo'o's "prey in a cage" and was released only after the traces of the drug's effects disappeared.
Yuan Duo'ao entangled her with money and false promises, but Lian Lian just wanted to escape. She was even more afraid of tarnishing Mi Fan, so she deliberately disappeared from his sight. Mi Fan didn't know the truth and wandered around Yueming Lake during the winter vacation. After school started, he stayed at the gate of the Art Academy every day, never giving up. In the end, Mi Fan learned of the entanglement and impulsively assassinated Yuan Duo'ao, and was later sentenced to 13 years due to mental illness; Lian Lian also collapsed under the crushing reality and mental torture, and both of them fell into the "purgatory of original sin" and struggled in pain.
